Iconic and the Museum of Art + Light’s fifth collaboration will showcase the exceptional talent of Sasha Stiles. This bespoke series of 30 tactile, physical poem sculptures from Stiles' iconic 2022 release, COMPLETION: FRAGMENTS, will be available to art collectors starting on October 16th.

This exclusive release is limited to 30 physical poem sculptures. Each 7.5” x 11.5” x 1” sculpture is hand-signed by Stiles and includes an accompanying certificate of authenticity.
COMPLETION: FRAGMENTS #9 will be placed in the Museum of Art + Light’s permanent collection.

Written from 2019-2020 and released in 2022 as a series of interconnected video prints, COMPLETION: FRAGMENTS is a cycle of transhuman poetry that muses on the nature of selfhood in a world increasingly mediated by technology.
In the 2024 edition, COMPLETION: FRAGMENTS evolves into a series of 30 tactile, physical poem sculptures that subvert our expectations of the digital and invite interactive readership.
Sheets of fragile, translucent vellum are inscribed with AI training data – Stiles’ own human poetry – then layered with generative verse, and bound in sturdy acrylic reclaimed from digital frames. The resulting objects, each hand-assembled by the artist, are inversions of the original video prints that stand, singly and together, as a new kind of e-book – a palimpsest of associations between input and output, and an apt metaphor for the delicate balance between what is fleeting and what endures.

About Sasha Stiles
Sasha Stiles is a first-generation Kalmyk-American poet, artist and AI researcher widely recognized as a pioneer of generative literature and language art. Her award-winning work fuses text and technology to probe what it means to be human in an increasingly posthuman era, and has garnered global attention from the likes of MoMA, Christie’s, the Prix Ars Electronica, the Lumen Prize, Artforum, NPR and Gucci.
In 2021, Stiles released the poetry collection Technelegy, co-authored with a custom AI-powered text generator; the book probes how technology has made us more and more human over time, and explores both the exhilaration and danger of our intimate relationship with the digital. Praised by Hans Ulrich Obrist and Ray Kurzweil, among others, Technelegy serves as a touchstone for Stiles' ongoing investigations of the posthuman.
A co-founder of literary collective theVERSEverse, and Poetry Mentor to the humanoid android BINA48 since 2018, Stiles showcases her multidimensional, transdisciplinary pieces in physical and virtual exhibitions worldwide, and performs and presents at venues including Art Basel and Lincoln Center. Her vision for the future of creativity is deeply rooted in the role that linguistic innovations have always played in the development of human consciousness, and the augmentation of human imagination.

Reflecting on connection, loss, and the traces we leave behind, each AI-powered stanza is part of a fragmented yet cohesive narrative that explores the tension between what is whole and what remains incomplete – gesturing toward the shards of ancient literature (such as Sappho’s Fragments) that serve as civilization’s memory, while also pointing to the ways in which modern technologies like AI and blockchain are changing the relationship between individual experience and collective wisdom.
